The Apquip system for finger jointers is a pressurized, non-circulating, adhesive applicator system that incorporates a finger type extruder head with an air-operated adhesive valve.

The control system provides a timed and highly accurate application repeatability while a pump or tank provides constant adhesive pressure. It is also possible to connect the head to an automatic mixing unit.

The system's single sensor is used to detect the leading edge of each board or block. As each block is sensed, the adhesive valve opens, allowing adhesive to flow until the block's back edge is sensed.

The control system is interfaced with the jointer lug chain or conveyor controls so the adhesive valve functions instantly in conjunction with the conveyor. In case of an overload the head swings away which minimizes the chance for damage.

The system works with a pressure tank or pump.
